Dr Cáceres is currently an associate professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBM) at the University of Chile, where she leads the Aging and Tissue Repair Laboratory in the Faculty of Medicine. Her group studies the molecular mechanisms involved in aging and how they affect tissue repair, focusing on early markers both in blood (primarily associated with inflammation) and in human gum tissue. She is particularly interested in studying the accumulation of senescent cells during aging and in age-related diseases and their interaction with the immune system.
